I think this week was challenging for me when we had to read and annotate “silent spring” by Rachel Carson because when I read i’ve noticed that I miss a lot of important things no matter how many times i've read it over and over so when we go into class discussions it’s difficult to participate in the conversation. my class took a trip to The Museum Of Contemporary Art in San Diego. And it felt really nice to get out of the classroom and be given a tour. I don’t go to museums often but I really enjoy seeing what other artists are doing besides painting, which is what I am used to seeing and making. Going to the MCASD showed me that I can do so much more with my art and gave me some ideas on what I can do for the zines that we’ll be making for our Chula Vista Zine Fest. One of the artists that I really enjoyed looking at and learning about is named Paulo Bruscky. He is an artist that lives in Brazil. “Throughout his career, he has produced artworks inspired by everyday experiences that challenge audiences to think about how the world unfolds around them. He has continuously addressed the anonymity and alienation of the individual in the urban landscape, countering that experience with humor, irony, and caustic wit.” -bronx museum I liked how his art looks like mail that has been printed or written on, some have repetition whether its asking the same question over and over or having the same photo with different color and values.
