“Think about an academic subject that inspires you. Describe how you have furthered this interest inside and/or outside of the classroom”

As I make my way through the outdoor campus. Leafs crunching below my shoes until I step onto the mat in front of the classroom. As I open the door I feel a cold breeze from inside the room, overpowering the warmth of the sun. I walk into the large open room and I see my professor and familiar strangers that range from the ages of 20 or early 40s. I help my peers set up rows of six foot tables that was able to allow two students to sit comfortably. Once everyone sits in their usual seating area. The lights go off one by one and the projector from behind me shines the slideshow that my teacher has prepared. We go over the slide show that explains how to paint monochromatic paintings. Which are paintings that uses one color, with different shades to make it seem different colors throughout the piece. Once the lecture was coming to an end, The professor walks up to the front of the projector screen. Her frizzy hair visible within the shadow that the projector creates behind her. She then has everyone put the rows of tables away while taking out stools and easels that are taller than me. I take out my canvas pad and rip out a piece of paper. I set up my cart that is shared with one other person. I bought an object to reference off of. I brought a small swann cremeric figure from home. Sketching out the swan that is as big as my hand was difficult making it look proportional to the size of the canvas paper. Many eraser marks on the ledge that held up the paper, Some falling onto the concrete floor. Painting for the course of three days it was interesting to see what other people in my class did throughout the painting process. I tried to keep my area clean but sadly failed as I let the paint covered paper towels pile up. I didn't notice that my palate paper was filed up until I had to mix a new shade of purple. It seemed as if there was more purple paint on my hands than there was on the canvas. After these three days. I’ve realised that painting might be the thing I'm most confident in compared to other art mediums but also how I should not be limited to just painting.
