Something that impacted me during the growth mindset project was how much time it too to do one painting. I was only able to do three paintings during the two weeks. Which was shocking to me since I thought I would have been able to paint more.
After the two weeks I did keep practicing painting. But during my own practice I did paintings that are both original artwork with a few inspired paintings. I did this because, like I've mentioned before, I want to keep doing art after I graduate from High School. I think the growth mindset project introduced how this year was going to look like for math. To keep practicing to see that we have improved from the last time we tried that certain thing. |
King Arthur sets up a game with all of his knights. Lets say there are ten knights, the all sit in a seat. King Arthur will then start with knight one, saying he is still in the game, then going to knight two, saying he is out of the game. He does this until there is one knight who is left, the winner of the game. Our task was to find a formula that will be able to determine which knight is in the winning seat before the game starts.
I liked this problem because my table group worked well together to try and figure out the formula. I also liked how we did a real life example by setting up chairs to have a visual on how many times it could go around with both math classrooms. My group struggled during the math group math test because we found a formula that worked for every number of chairs except for the first few set of chairs. So we didn't know how to create a new one. But we were all able to explain the one that we created which was pretty cool. |
My favorite subject this year in math has got to be Geometry. esspecially when we had a revisit to triganometry. I like this type of math because I am able to visualize what triganometry function I was going to use. Also the formulas are easy to memorize. When I was studying for the Math three final I mainly focused on geometry and I feel that if I didnt focus on this section I would have done worse than I did. But it was fun learning how to "find the measure of one interior angle in each regular polygon" because once I learned this I was able to teach it to my friends who didnt understand how to solve it.

I didn't take math honors this year but I decided to do a math honors project for extra credit with my classmates. Something I learned about myself during this project was how I should work with people who I am comfortable with. Working with my two group members made it very easy to finish the project because we chose to do a project together.
