DESCRIPTION
This was our very first writing assignment for the 9th grade. We had to write a narrative essay that would have who we think we are at the moment, who we are as a boy or girl, who we are as a teenager and the last one was who we are as a friend. REFLECTION This was difficult to write because i wasn't sure how i could write it. I got critique from others and gave critique to others as well, the feedback that i got was very helpful because they let me know what parts i could write differently so that my 'At This Moment I Am' essay was good. Art story pieceDESCRIPTION
For this writing assignment Ms.Britt had the whole class look at the same painting and we each had to create a story about it, Everyone was different and unique because everyone was thinking of different things while looking at the painting. The painting was of a girl wearing a yellow shirt with red hair, it looked lie she was standing in the rain while carrying a bag.
REFLECTION I thought that this writing assignment was difficult, I couldn't seem to create a story because I only had what was on the painting. But I ended up writing about a girl picking up trash that her community left. We had to share them with other people and I wasn't comfortable with sharing because I wasn't confident with the story that I created.

DECSRIPTION
For this writing assignment we were given four kinds of poems and we had to create our own. The different types of poems were a Haiku, Carpe Diem, Elegy, and a free verse. REFLECTION It was difficult to write poems in the formats, a haiku is a poem that has 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second line and 5 in the third line. A Carpe Diem poem is about seizing the day. A Elegy poem is a sad poem about a persons death, and a free verse is what ever you want it to be about. The most difficult to write was the Haiku because I couldn't go over the amount of syllables and had to write 3 individual ones, one about the ocean, the trees, and the mountains. 1st Biographical article for book DESCRIPTION
This writing assignment was connected to the Tiny House project. Each group was given an artist and we had to create a house for them, but in order to do that we had to interview the artists, And for our Humanities class we wrote about them and about their life before deciding to become an artist. REFLECTION Our artist was Roy Devries, and he is an artist that mostly paints profiles of males, and some of his painting shave water in them. He uses the colors green and blue the most in his paintings. It was difficult because I had to write about the process that he goes through before he starts a new painting, and during the interview My group and I didn't ask many questions about the process so I had to email him many times so I could write his biographical article. DESCRIPTION This writing assignment was the same as the first biographical article, but we had to rite something that was in our blue prints. I wrote about the wavy window that we decided to put for our artist, Roy Devries. REFLECTION I had to write about why we wanted to include it in our blue print design, because Roy is inspired by water. It was diffucult to write because we had to write it in a creative way to get the readers attention. ARTIFACT FOR 2ND BIOGRAPHICAL ARTICLE |
5 vignettesDESCRIPTION In our class we read "The House On Mango Street' written by Sandra Cisneros, And since she wrote this book in vignettes, we had to create 5 of our own versions of the vignettes. REFLECTION I chose to do the following topics, My Family,A Good Day, A Fear and a Bad Memory, Nature, and the last topic was Growing Up. It was hard to write my own vignettes, we based each vignette on the chapters so we had to re title them so that they relate to our vignettes. I liked this writing assignment, even if it was a challenge, If I had more time I think that I would be proud of all the vignettes and not just 2 out of 3 of the vignettes. A sonnet is a 14 line poem and each line can only have 10 syllables. and the last word in the first line, and the last word in the third line have to rhyme with one another, the same for the second and fourth line, then the fifth and seventh, and its like that for all 14 lines. REFLECTION
We had to write about love for our sonnet and since I have yet experienced love, I decided to write about forbidden love, between anime characters. I wrote about Kaneki Ken and Hide from Tokyo Goul, then Kai and Kei from Ajin, i decided to write about the two pairs because Kai and Kei are somewhat similar to Hide and Kaneki. In Tokyo ghoul, kaneki tries to distance himself from Hide to protect him, but fails to do so, which makes Hide die in the end. and in Ajin, Kei tries to distance himself from Kai to protect him and somewhat succeeds. It was Difficult to write because I had to make each line have 10 syllables while making it sound creative. |
