For the week of January 8th through 12th I was absent for three days from catching a fever so I had to stay home and rest. When I got back on January 11th we watched some of the film “Terra” (2015). In this film I learned about how life was created. I learned about Lichen, which is called the “pioneer”. No roots are needed and only relies on the carbon that was in the air. Inside Lichen you can find bacteria, they are minuscule, Containing every living genetic code. I also learned that algae would transform carbon using sunlights and gave energy to fungus, to which life exploded. ( Bacteria, Fungi,Algae & Lichen gave birth to the earth's soil) I would like to know how long it took us to get to the homosapien stage of our evolution journey? In the movie Terra the narrator said something along the lines of “prehistoric man asked himself many questions that were left unanswered” which led to mankind painting what they saw around them on a daily on the caves. (The photo in this reflection is an example of the paintings) It had me thinking about how they became the creatures that other species were afraid of when in the beginning, prehistoric men were afraid of almost everything. I wonder if they were able to comprehend emotions like we do today or if they would distract themselves by painting. I use painting as a way to express myself and help me find a reason for the things around me that I can’t find a meaning to, which kind of relates to the pain and pleasures of society article to my own life because I use painting as a way to express myself in ways that I can't explain to others around me.So throughout the movie I was wondering how they saw the world around them when almost everything had no meaning yet.
